Mrs. Adalia Hermina (Marting) Vogt was born April 11, 1893 in Monona Township, Clayton County, Iowa, to Henry and Anna (Meier) Marting. She was baptized June 2 in Garnavillo by Pastor Ed Sickhoff. Adalia received her education in a school near her home in Monona Township. She received her confirmation instruction at the Lutheran Church in Luana, Iowa, and was confirmed there by Pastor Paulsen March 24, 1907. Adalia was married to Alvin Vogt by Pastor F. Deftenberger June 6, 1916. They farmed near Farmersburg 32 years before they moved to Elkader in 1948.
She is survived by one daughter LuNida (Mrs. Eugene) Miller, Farmersburg; two grandchildren, Virginia (Mrs. Russell) Pate, Farmersburg, and Grant Miller, Farmersburg. There are three great-grandchildren, Christina, Brian and Robert Pate, Farmersburg. Three brothers, Alvin and Harvey Marting, Monona and Elmer Marting, Postville, also survive along with nieces, nephews and many friends.
Mrs. Vogt was preceded in death by her husband January 23, 1976, her parents, three brothers, Orando, Milton and Vernie Marting.

Elkader- Adalia H. Vogt, 90, died Monday morning at Central Community Hospital.
Survivors are a daughter, LuNida Miller of Farmersburg; three brothers, Alvin and Harvey Marting, both of Monona, and Elmer Marting of Postville; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church, Farmersburg. Burial: Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery, Farmersburg. Visitation: after 1 p.m. today at Witt's and after 12:30 Wednesday at the church.
