Funeral services were held Friday, April 26, 1979, for Theodore Glawe, 88, at Witt’s Funeral Home with burial at Clayton Center. The Rev. John Zerhusen officiated. Pallbearers were Stanley Glawe, Paul Moritz, Robert Nesteby, Jan Wood, Jerry Moyna, and Kenneth Anderson.

Ted Glawe was born January 30, 1891, in Read Township to Theodore William and Elise Taake Glawe. He married Emma Lemke and she preceded him death in 1918. They had one son, Vernon. He married Lillian Vogt in l934 in Decorah. He was a lifetime resident of Clayton County and was educated in a rural school near his home. He retired from farming in 1948 and then moved to Elkader.

He died April 24, 1979 at Central Community Hospital in Elkader after a four month illness

He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church Council and was a frequent delegate to the Synod Convention. He was the caretaker of the church cemetery for several years.

He survived by his wife, Lillian; one son, Vernon of Monona, two-step daughters, Mrs.
Avron (Marinette) Oleson, Elkader and Mrs. Kenneth (Donna) Radloff, Farmersburg; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sibling; his first wife, Emma; his brother, Arthur; four sisters, Mrs. John (Emelie) Wilker, Mrs. William (Minnie) Radloff, Mrs. William (Emma) Bruns and Mrs. Ben (Lucy) Palas.

A sincere thank you to all who remembered us with cards, visits, flowers and prayers at the time of our loss. Thank you to the ladies who served the lunch at Zion Lutheran Church at Clayton Center, the staff of the Central Community Hospital. A special thank you to Doctors Powell and Auer.
