Funeral services for Nora M. Loftsgard were held Sunday, Oct. 26, 1986 at ?? p.m. at the West Clermont Lutheran Church, Clermont. The Rev. David Johnson and Rev. Harriet Danielson officiated. Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in God's Acres Cemetery, Clermont.

Nora Mathilda Loftsgard, daughter of John and Isabel (Nelson) Nelson, was born April 15, 1903 in Fayette County. She died Friday, Oct. 24 at Palmer Memorial Hospital in West Union.

She was baptized May 10, 1903 at the East Clermont Lutheran Church. On May 27, 1917 she was confirmed at the West Clermont Lutheran Church in Clermont. She attended Fayette County schools and also the Clermont public school.

On Nov. 30, 1920 she was married to Theodore N. Loftsgard at the West Clermont Lutheran Church in Clermont. They had four children. They farmed in Clayton and Fayette Counties before moving to Clermont in 1937 where they farmed until retiring and moving to West Union in 1966. Nora moved to Elgin in 1982.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Theodore, who died March 4, 1972, a son, Milton in infancy, one brother, Will J. Nelson, and one sister, Edna Nelson.

Surviving are one daughter, Annabelle J. Flores, Des Moines; two sons, C. Dean (Mary) Loftsgard of Franklin, TN, and Wendell (Marilyn) Loftsgard of Monmouth, OR, four brothers, Arthur of Decorah, Millard and Joe, both of Clermont, and Elmer of Cochrane, WI; four sisters, Rose Maurer, of Fayette, Amy Meyer, of Clermont, Ethel Wilber and Irene Wolfs, both of West Union, 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Nora was a member of the West Clermont Lutheran Church and the ALCW. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of which she held many offices.

Casket bearers were Millard Nelson, Jr.; Kenneth Nelson; Terry Becker, Lewis Wolfs, Jerry Wilbur and James Nelson.
