Services were held Monday, Jan. 19, 11:00 a.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville for Henry Landt, who died at the Community Memorial Hospital in Postville, Jan. 16, at the age of 78. The Rev. R. H. Steege was in charge of the service.
Henry Landt, son of Carl and Friederike Kaufeld Landt, was born on a farm near Monona on Aug. 11, 1891. He was baptized into the Lutheran faith on September 20, 1891, confirmed in April, 1905 and remained a life-time member of the Lutheran Church.
Mr. Landt was educated in the rural schools of Clayton County. On Dec. 22, 1914 he was united in marriage with Lietzie Heins at the Lutheran parsonage in Monona.
To this union was born three daughters, Mrs. Harold (Helen) Lenth of Farmersburg, Mrs. Robert (Leona) Foels of Luana, and Charlotte who passed away in infancy.
Mr. and Mrs. Landt made their home on a farm south of Luana until moving to Postville in 1946.
He is survived by his wife, a half sister in Milwaukee, his two daughters, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, one sister, one brother, two half sisters, and three half brothers.
Burial was in Eno Cemetery. Schutte's was in charge of arrangements.
