Funeral services were conducted April 13 at the Marion Lutheran Church, Gunder, for Nellie (Christianson) Landsgard, who died at the Community Memorial Hospital, Postville, April 11, following a lingering illness. The Rev. Robert Henriksen officiated.

Born November 22, 1900 in Clayton county to Carl and Betty Christianson, she was baptized and confirmed in Norway church and received her education in Wagner township.

On December 1, 1920 she was united in marriage to Arthur Landsgard and to this union was born one son, Emery, living south of Gunder, and a daughter, Mrs. Harry (Bernita) Lueder, near West Union.

The couple farmed until the fall of 1957 when they moved to Elgin, until her health caused them to move near West Union to be close to their daughter. The couple observed their 50th wedding anniversary while there.

After her husband's death in June of 1971, she moved to the Good Samaritan Center in Postville.

Survivors include her son and daughter, two grandchildren Kathy and Thomas; three sisters, Mrs. Julie Peterson and Mrs. Alma Gunderson of Postville and Mrs. Will Seeley of Wauzeka, Wisconsin; two brothers, Henry of Wauzeka and Thomas of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers Knute and Edwin and a sister Anna.

Burial was in the church cemetery.
