Luckerman, Elmer C. 1883-1971

Elmer C. Luckerman, son of Charles and Louisa (Klotzbach) Luckerman, was born at Giard, Iowa on Feb. 28, 1883 and died at the Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien, Wis. on Mon, Aug. 30, 1971 at the age of 88 years, 6 months, and 2 days.

He was never married and farmed with his parents most of his life living in the McGregor area. After his parents passed away, he remained on the farm until advancing age and failing health persuaded him to go to live in custodial home, first at Osborne and then at the Carriage House in McGregor.

Becoming critically ill about two weeks ago, he was taken by Rescue Squad, to the hospital in Prairie du Chien, Wisc., where he passed away.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Laura.

Funeral services were conducted at the Thornburg Funeral Home, by Rev. Paxton Smith on Thurs. Sept. 2, with burial in the Giard Cemetery.

He is survived by two nieces and three nephews and other relatives.
