Services Held For Lynn Hangartner

Funeral services were held for Lynn M. Hangartner, Saturday, June 24, 1978 at St. John Lutheran Church, Luana. The Rev. Perry Brown officiated and interment was at the Luana Lutheran Cemetery. Lynn died at the St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester Wednesday, June 21, 1978.

Lynn Michael Hangartner, son of Conrad and Etta Hangartner, was born in Post Township, Allamakee County, March 25, 1915. He was baptized December 16, 1917 at the United Brethren Church at Bethel. He was confirmed at the Stravanger Lutheran Church, Ossian, Iowa on November 15, 1936 by Pastor Kvomme.

On June 30, 1937 he was united in marriage to Margaret Krambeer at St. John Lutheran church, Luana by Pastor H. P. Kumpf. To their union two daughters and two sons were born.

He was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, a member of the brotherhood and served on Church Council. He served on the board of directors at the Luana Consolidated School and the Monona-Luana Telephone Company. He farmed in the Luana-Monona community and was a milk hauler for the Luana Creamery Association. In 1960 he moved to the present home at Luana where he was a Surge Sales and Service Dealer for fifteen years. He worked for the Clayton County Farm Service Company for several years and presently was employed by Lowell's Electric, Inc.

Preceeding Lynn in death were his parents, three brothers, Fred, Louis and James and three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Lilly, Mrs. Anna Wright and Mrs. Hazel Mackey.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret, two daughters, Mrs. Lyle (Norma) Kneeskern, of Castalia; Mrs. Ron (Lorna) Wentz, of Menominee Falls, Wis.; two sons, Don, of Hiawatha; Ron, of Cedar Rapids; six grandsons and one granddaughter; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Bloxham, of Evansdale; Mrs. Esther VanWey, of Frankville; one brother, LeVerne, of Elkhardt, Ind.; and nieces and nephews.
