Funeral services for Nettie Valdine Lindroth, 85, were held Monday, Aug. 30, 1993, at Norway Lutheran Church, rural St. Olaf. Rev. William Palmquist officiated the service with burial in Norway Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ervin Rugland, Walter Rugland, Richard Phipps, Robert Hilgerson, Bernelle Glawe, and Bill Feller.
Nettie Valdine Lindroth, daughter of Henry and Molly (Wold) Larson, was born August 14, 1908, in Wagner Township near St. Olaf, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at Norway Lutheran Church in St. Olaf and graduated from Elkader High School and Jr. College. She received her cosmetology degree from beauty school in Des Moines. On July 29, 1931, she was united in marriage to Myron Lindroth at Norway Church in St. Olaf. Four children were born to this union. She taught Sunday School for a number of years and belonged to Ladies Aid and Norway Church women groups. She was a beautician in the St. Olaf and Elkader area. Nettie Lindroth died at the Elkader Care Center August 27, 1993.
Survivors include her children, Rodney of Quincy, Ill., Kenneth of Vadnais Heights, Minn., and Karen (Mrs. Roy) Engelhardt of St. Olaf; ten grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Myron; an infant daughter Marilyn Jean; and a brother Oswald Larson.
