Kathryn Marie Knospe, 53, of Farmersburg, died Monday, September 14, 2009 at Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, WI.

The funeral was at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, at Norway Lutheran Church, rural St. Olaf, with Rev. Marshall Hahn officiating. Burial was in the Norway Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Leonard Funeral Home in Elkader and one hour prior to service time at the church on Thursday.

Music for the funeral was provided by Mary Lammers, organist.

She was born March 27, 1956, in Cedar Rapids to Clifford and Phyllis M. (Vincent) Wiedenhoff.
Kathy grew up in Vinton and moved with her family to the rural Elkader area during her high school years. She graduated from Elkader High School. On October 15, 1972, she was united in marriage to Jackie Donald Knospe at Norway Lutheran Church. Two sons were born to this union. They moved to Farmersburg in 1976 to make their home. Kathy worked for Monona Wire for twenty years and also worked at the Isle of Capri Casino in Marquette for four years. She loved the time she spent with family taking fishing trips to Waterville, MN. Riding motorcycles was also something she enjoyed.

Survivors include her husband, Jackie Knospe of Farmersburg; her sons, John Knospe of Oswego, IL and Don Knospe of Farmersburg; her father, Clifford Wiedenhoff of Elkader; her mother, Phyllis Wilcox of St. Olaf; father-in-law, Eugene (Ruth) Knospe of Elkport; one grandaughter, Emily Knospe of Oswego, IL; three brothers, Randy (Marsha) Wiedenhoff of Clermont, Mark (Kathy) Wiedenhoff of Des Moines, Jim (Linda) Wiedenhoff of Arvada, CO; one brother-in-law, Louis (Sandy) Knospe; one sister-in-law, Darla (Kenny) Welsch and several nieces and nephews.

Kathy was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Wiedenhoff and her mother-in-law, Vivian Knospe.

Casket bearers were John Knospe, Don Knospe, Jim Wiedenhoff, Randy Wiedenhoff, Mark Wiedenhoff, and Jeff Wheeler.
