Robert Carl Rosacker, 80, passed away Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital following a short illness.

Arrangements were handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Guttenberg. Services for Robert Rosacker were private.

Robert was born the son of Carl and Laura (Davis) Rosacker on Mar. 4, 1929, in Dubuque. Robert was educated in Dubuque. He was a veteran of WWII. Bob started his career at Hilton Homes in Guttenberg. He went on to be co-founder of and salesman for Galaxy Modular Homes of Dyersville. He was the owner of Zip’z Ice Cream Store and enjoyed a second career as a paramutual clerk at the Dubuque Greyhound Park. In the last few years, Bob became involved with the Veteran’s Association as a volunteer driver escorting patients to Iowa City for treatment and care.

On Apr. 6, 1953, Bob was united in marriage with Rita Pape at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dubuque. They were later blessed with five children. Bob was very proud of his family and cherished the time he spent with them. He enjoyed golf, pool, Rita’s homemade pizza, playing Texas Holdem with his family, and his dog “Jackie.”

Bob will be forever remembered by his wife, Rita; two daughters, Pam (Donn) Anderson of Wellsburg and Patty (Paul) Wachendorf of Stanwood; three sons, Ron (Julie) Rosacker, Rick (Twila) Rosacker and Steve (Caroline) Rosacker all of Guttenberg; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Stender of Salem, Ore. and Joyce (Everett) Brown of The Villages, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, June Tutthil.
