Tillie Cornelia Frautschy, twelfth child of Thorsten and Kjerstie (Ruroden) Thompson was born March 3, 1898 in Marion Township of Clayton County, Iowa. She died March 13, 1989 at the Thornton Manor Nursing Center at Lansing, at the age of 91 years after a lingering illness.

She was baptized in the East Clermont Lutheran Church, April 3, 1898, and confirmed at the Marion Lutheran Church in Gunder, Iowa on May 12, 1912. She attended school in the Palas and Center rural schools near Gunder.

On November 26, 1919, she was united in marriage to Ben Frautschy at the Clermont Lutheran parsonage by Pastor C. H. Hjortholm sharing 56 years together before his death in 1975. She lived most of her married life in the Clermont vicinity.

Surviving are one sister Alma Christianson who resides at the Postville Good Samaritan Home, niece Clarcia Paulson, with whom Tillie lived when she became legally blind. They also shared the same room in the Lansing home. She had numerous nieces and nephews, and many lifelong friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents whom Tillie lovingly cared for during their many years of failing health and final illnesses; her husband Ben, three brothers, Albert, Oscar and Henry Thompson, 7 sisters, Trina Berg, Caroline Olson, Mollie Mork, Clara Christianson, Julia Houg, Betsy Paulson and Annie Simpson.

She was a member of the West Clermont Lutheran Church, and the American Legion Auxiliary for many years.

Casketbearers were Alan Gunderson, Franklin Olson, Douglas Guyer, Jerry Thorson, George Paulson and Tom Landsgard.
