A former Marquette resident, Everett A. "Peanuts" Fields, 72, of Janesville, Wis., died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 1978 in a Madison hospital.
Funeral services were held Friday at 1:30 p.m. in Gunderson Funeral Home, Janesville, with the Rev. Edwin Foster officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Park, Janesville.
Mr. Fields was born Sept. 20, 1906, at Marquette, the son of William and Anna (Hancock) Fields. He and his wife, the former Olive Susan Durr, were married November 15, 1927 at Marquette, Iowa and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Nov. 15, 1977.
Mr. Fields was a conductor for the Milwaukee Road before retiring in 1971. He was a past secretary of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and a member of the United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. David (Shirley) Haase of Genoa City, Wis., and Mrs. Herbert (Dolly) Stanford of Madison; two sons, Gary (Julie) Fields of Morton, Ill., and Terry (Sharon) Fields of Waunakee, Wis.; 13 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one brother, Harold Fields of McGregor.
A brother, Raymond, preceded him in death.
