HEART ATTACK IS FATAL TO FRITZ FUNK, 48
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage for Frederick (Fritz) Funk, 48, who died of a heart attack at his home July 23.
Frederick Welmer Funk was born May 15, 1924, in Luana, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Welmer Funk. He attended the Luana Consolidated schools and was graduated in 1942. On February 12, 1945, he was married to Betty Jean Bentien at the Methodist Church in Monona.
Frederick was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church at Luana. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Osage and had served on its board of trustees. At the time of his death he was assistant manager of Osage Lumber Co., a position he had held for 9 years. Fritz was an active and enthusiastic member of the Osage Conservation Club and had served on its board of directors.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; one son, Ted, of Osage; one daughter, Becky, at home; and one granddaughter, Lisa Jo Funk; his mother, Mrs. Welmer Funk of Luana; two brothers, Merle and Ronald of Buffalo, Wyo.; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Lauretta) Nelson of Buffalo, Wyo. & Mrs. Wallace (Shirley) Thein of Monona.
He was preceded in death by his father.
