Krambeer, Lawrence Henry 1935-1988

Funeral services for Lawrence H. Krambeer, were Oct. 6 at Orleans Lutheran Church, Ridgeway, Iowa. Rev. Phillip Olson and Ginny Olson, Associate in Ministry, officiated at the 2 p.m. service. Burial was in the Orleans Lutheran Cemetery. Bradley-Lindstrom Funeral Service, Cresco was in charge of arrangements.

Lawrence Henry Krambeer, son of Lawrence and Olga (Livingood) Krambeer, was born near Luana, Iowa on February 6, 1935. He moved with his parents, brothers and sisters to Frankville in 1945. He was baptized in the home of his great grandmother Hager in Frankville and was confirmed in the Frankville Presbyterian Church.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1956. On December 15, 1956 he married Carolyn LaForgia in the Wilmington Lutheran Church near Spring Grove, Minnesota.

They farmed near Decorah, Sargeant, Minnesota and Cresco.

Larry was a member of Orleans Lutheran Church where he served as a member of the church council. He was a director for the Winneshiek County Farm Bureau, president of the Winneshiek County Farm Bureau from 1981 to 1983. He was a leader of the Space Age Farmers 4-H Club for more than 10 years and was also a board member of the Crestwood FFA Chapter.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Olga and a son, Brian.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, sons, Curtis of Las Cruces, MN, Keith of Denver, CO, Steven of Cresco and Daniel of Decorah; a granddaughter, Elizabeth, and step-grandsons Joel and Jeff; his father, Lawrence Krambeer of Decorah, sisters, Mrs. Dolores (Dick) Hughes of Frankville; Mrs. Shirley (Homer) Evert of Newmarket, NH, and Mrs. Nona (Wayne) Stone of Lansing; his brothers: Ronald and Gordon of Cedar Rapids, Thomas of Lawrence, KS, and Ned, Dennis and Jerry of Decorah; and several aunts, uncles and nephews.

Pallbearers were Gene, Gall, Francis Lybbert, Marvin Bergan, Lyle Borseth, Skeeter Miner, Merlin Johnson.
