Final Rites For Ila Friederich

Funeral services for Mrs. Richard Friederich were held Tuesday, Feb. 14, 1984 at 1:30 p.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church, Postville. The Rev. Dennis E. Morey officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Elgin Cemetery.

Ila Mae Friederich, daughter of Walter and Lois (Helmer) Fritz, was born May 18, 1923 in Fayette County. She died Sunday, February 12, 1984 at Community Memorial Hospital, Postville.

She attended school at West Union until her senior year, graduating from the Clermont School in 1943. On Dec. 4, 1943 she was married to Richard Friederich at the Presbyterian Church in West Union. To this union six children were born. They farmed in the Elgin, Postville and Monona area until 1970 when they moved to their present home south of Luana.

Ila was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church and the UPW. She received an Honorary Membership pin in recognition of her work in the women's organization of the church. She was also a member of the Bob's Creek Study Club and the Town and Country Study Club of Luana.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, Wayne Allen.

Surviving besides her husband, Richard, are two sons, Dennis of Luana and Larry of Harlan; three daughters, Evelyn (Mrs. Michael Aubrey) of Waverly, Elaine (Mrs. Gerald Houts) of Alburnett, and Dawn (Mrs. Brad Richard) of Luana; six grandchildren and a brother, Lawrence Fritz of Shawmut, AL.
