Eugene E. Ziegler age 72 of Lynxville passed away Weds., Feb. 4, 2009 at the St. Francis Hospital in LaCrosse, WI. He was born March 29, 1936 in Fountain City, WI, son of Erwin and Wilma (Falls) Ziegler. He married Nancy Crusan on May 29, 1953. To this union six children were born. Gene was employed at Fisher Body for 5 years and later drove a semi for several years. He worked at Northern Engraving until the plant closed. He always commercial fished and later worked for the Corps of Engineers until his retirement. His lifetime passion was fishing and hunting but he also enjoyed plowing snow, trapping, ice fishing, and mowing.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nancy Ziegler of Lynxville, a daughter Debra Ziegler of Lynxville, 3 sons; Kenneth (Kris)of McGregor, IA, Steve and Roger (Tina) both of Lynxville, a sister Sandra (James) Greene of Seneca, WI, a brother and sister-in-law James (Carol) Crusan of Lynxville, 9 grandchildren; Wendy Ziegler of Dodgeville, WI, Scott Ziegler of Elgin, IL, Christine (James) Sickle of Lansing, IA, Jennifer Ziegler of Marquette, IA, Randy Ziegler of McGregor, IA, Leya Wiemerslage of La Crosse, WI, Summer Ziegler of Lynxville, Angela Ziegler of Prairie du Chien and Michael (Anna) Ziegler of Osseo, WI, 17 great grandchildren; Audra, Teri, Ryan, Trevor, Crystal, Dallas, Jade, Kayden, Brent, Tyler, Corrina, Alexis, Shawn, Dillon, Chaise, Christopher and Michael.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons; Robert and Michael along with a grandson Earl.

A Memorial service will be Sun., Feb. 8, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lynxville Community Center in Lynxville, WI. Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Lynxville Community Center. A private family interment will be held at a later date. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien assisted the family.
