Funeral services were held for Brian Thomas Kenney, 18, Elkader, Thursday, Aug. 24, 1989, at the Central Community School gymnasium. Father Thomas Rhomberg of St. Joseph's Catholic Church officiated with burial in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Elkader. Pallbearers were John Farmer, Mark Stannard, Dave Bacon, Ray Peterson, Dale Scott, and Duane Klink. Honorary bearers were Harry Hubbard, Francis DeShaw, Melvin Scott and Edward Farrell.

Brian Kenney was born Oct. 13, 1970, at Manchester. He graduated from Central High School in Elkader May 28, 1989, and was to attend Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. His death was the result of a one vehicle accident Sunday, Aug. 20, 1989.

Survivors include his parents, Tom and Agnes; a sister Tammy of Elkader; his grandmothers, Eva Schuldt of Volga and Blanche Kenney Guertin of Fresno, Calif.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousin.

Preceding him in death were his grandfathers, Albert W. Schuldt and Leslie J. Kenney.
