Margaret Kurdelmeyer died Tuesday, March 27, 1990 at the Barthell Eastern Star Home in Decorah, where she resided since 1984.
Margaret Adams Kurdelmeyer was born August 25, 1909 in Elkader, Iowa, to parents Henry and Clara McKeller Adams. She received her education in the Elkader school system.
On September 19, 1924 she married William Kurdelmeyer at Clayton Center, Iowa. They had 2 sons and one daughter. They farmed in the Farmersburg area for many years. Later, they owned and operated the tavern in St. Olaf, Iowa. In 1970 they retired and moved to Monona.
Preceding her in death was her husband, William, who died October 12, 1979. Two brothers, Chet and Merle Adams and 2 sisters, Bessie Kissel and Ella Hughes.
Surviving is one daughter, Ivanelle (Mrs. Cletus) Althoff of Waukon; 2 sons, William, Jr. of Dowagiac, MI and Robert of Monona; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one sister: Gladys Strawbinger of Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Friday, at 11:00 a.m. at Schultz's Funeral Home in Monona. Pastor Ben Davis officiating. Organist, Florence Evans. Burial in Clayton Center Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Chet Althoff, Robert W. Kurdelmeyer, Jim Kurdelmeyer, Jay Molter, Mark Looney and Duane Meihost.
