Raymond Bernard Kohler was born July 8, 1909 in Clayton county, the son of Edward and Anne (Scheckenberger) Kohler.
On October 8, 1936, he was united in marriage to Catherine Maloney in St. Patrick's Church at Waukon.
Mr. Kohler lived all his life on the Kohler farm 2½ miles southwest of Monona. He was a lifelong member of St. Patrick's Church and a member of the Holy Name Society.
He entered the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital Sunday, August 20, after suffering a heart attack and passed away August 27. He had reached the age of 58 years, one month, 19 days.
Preceding him in death were his parents and an infant daughter, Mary Ann. Surviving are his wife, Catherine; one son, Daniel of Lansing, Michigan; two daughters, Ann and Margaret at home; two sisters, Mrs. Ray Bell of Greeley, Colorado, and Mrs. Harry Landt of Postville.
Funeral services were held from St. Patrick's Church, Wednesday, August 30, at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Donald Heineman officiating. Burial was made in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
