Services for Walter Koehn were held Wednesday, February 13, 1980 at 11:30 a.m. at Garden City United Methodist "Brick" Church in Monona, with Rev. Curtis Webster officiating. Organist was Mrs. Ivon Schultz, soloist was Mrs. Tom James. Pallbearers were Wayne Walters, Reuben Rayment, Forrest Walters, Eugene Milewsky, George Topel, and Ed Miller. Burial was in the Monona City Cemetery. Schultz's Funeral Home was in charge of services.
Walter Otto Koehn, the son of Ferdinand and Louise Koehn, was born April 19, 1901, near Clayton, Clayton County, Iowa. He attended school in the area. On April 14, 1941 he was united in marriage to Doris Bonzer. To this union one daughter was born. He was a farmer until his retirement in 1971.
He died Sunday, February 10, 1980, at Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, having reached the age of 78 years, 9 months, and 21 days.
Preceeding him in death was his infant daughter; his parents; his wife, Doris, who died on December 24, 1976; three brothers, Oscar, Fred, and Ervin; and two sisters, Anna and Amelia. Surviving him are two brothers, Albert of Marquette, Iowa, and Verni of Guttenberg, Iowa; and one sister, Louise Ferguson of Rockford, Illinois.
