Koopman Burial At Farmersburg

Funeral services for Gertrude Koopman, 64, were held Monday, Aug. 13 at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Farmersburg. The Rev. Robert Edwards officiated. Burial was in Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery. Schultz's Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Gertrude Matilda Koopman, the daughter of Walter and Esther (Ruckdashel) Heins, was born March 27, 1920 in Clayton County. She died Friday, Aug. 10, 1984 at Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, WI.

Gertrude was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville. She received her education in the Luana Consolidated School. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Farmersburg.

Gertrude was married to Richard Koopman at St. John's Lutheran Church April 25, 1940. They were the parents of four children. They moved to a farm near Farmersburg in 1953, where she continued to live after Richard's death April 29, 1971.

Gertrude was employed by the Clayton County Care Facility as a nurse's aide until her retirement.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Richard; a brother, Walter, Jr.; a sister, Betty; a granddaughter, Sandra; and a step grandson, Gary Lee.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Marlin (Karen) Squires, Fayette, Mrs. Lee (Sharon) Krambeer, Monona and Mrs. James (Susan) Bollman, Farmersburg; a son, Kim, Farmersburg and 13 grandchildren: Danny and Chad Squires; Raye, Jared and Wade Krambeer; Timmy, Tammy, Tracy and Tarah Bollman; and Jason, April and Amy Koopman.
