Kutzbach, Elsie Lucinda (Schlitter) 1901-1987

Funeral services were held Monday, March 16, 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Farmersburg. Pastor Robert Edward officiated. Burial was in Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery. Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona, was in charge of arrangements.

Elsie Lucinda Schlitter Kutzbach was born April 21, 1901, in rural Monona to William and Emma Jarms Schlitter.

On April 27, 1921 she married Henry Kutzbach in Monona. The couple had one son and one daughter. They farmed northeast of Farmersburg on Henry's parents farm until moving into their home in Farmersburg in 1946. Henry died December 14, 1965. Elsie remained in her home until moving into Windsor Manor III apartments in February 1987.

She was a member of Royal Neighbor, St. John's Lutheran Church and A.L.C.W.

She died March 13, 1987 at Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, WI following a sudden illness.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Henry; five brothers, Herb, Fred, Floyd, Lester and Clarence Schlitter and two half-brothers, Dayton and Alfred Schlitter.

Surviving are one son, Harland, Farmersburg; one daughter, Mrs. Lavon Kregel, Marshalltown; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 half-brothers, Howard Schlitter of Waterville, Harvey of West Union and Robert of Allison; four half-sisters: Verna Chalders and Alice Palas, both of Dubuque, Florence Plozel of Monona and Adeline McFarland of Madison, WI.

Pallbearers were Keith Kutzbach, Mark Kregel, Kent Kregel, Wayne Miene, Daryl Knoke, Tom Miene and Trent Miene.
