EARL W. BIEDERMANN

Earl William Biedermann was born December 20, 1921, in Jefferson Township, Clayton County, Iowa, the son of Laura Mueller Biedermann and the late John Biedermann. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, of which he was a faithful member until his death on March 21, 1961, at Mercy Hospital, Oelwein, Iowa.

In 1938 he moved with his parents to a farm located one-half mile north of Volga City, where he attended and graduated from the Volga City Public School.

On November 7, 1945, he entered the United States Army, from which he received his honorable discharge as Technician 5th class on February 28, 1947.

He was united in marriage August 14, 1950, to Miss Evelyn Hulverson at the St. Sebald Lutheran Church. They were the parents of two children, Jerry and Susan.

Mr. Biedermann was engaged in general faming and for 18 years had been in the turkey business.

He leaves his wife, Evelyn, a son, Jerry, 9, and a daughter Susan, 6, his mother, Mrs. John Biedermann, Volga City; one sister, Mrs. Derryl (Helen) Leonhart, Elgin; four brothers, Lloyd and LeRoy, Volga City; Oliver of Bellflower, Calif., and Louis of Davenport. His father preceded him in death in March 1960.

Funeral services were held Friday at the St. Paul Lutheran Church at 3:45 p.m. with the pastor, the Rev. A. J. Bringle in charge. Mrs. Wallace Oldfather, organist accompanied the soloist, Gary Hellings.

Mrs. Ray Leete and Mrs. Wm. Larson arranged the floral offerings.

Pallbearers were Robert Roehlk, Cedar Rapids; George Hakert, Elkader; Glen Probert, William Larson, Ted and Ray Leete.

The Volga American Legion Post conducted military rites at Hill Crest cemetery, where interment was made.
