Mrs. Elsie Miller, 63, Mallory Township, Skiplevel road, died at 7 a.m. Friday, Dec. 22, 1961, at the Guttenberg Community Hospital where she had been a patient since Sunday. Mrs. Miller was born Aug. 15, 1898, the daughter of Fred and Anna Duede Steinfadt of Garnavillo. After her marriage to Frank Miller at the Fairview Church, they farmed north of Colesburg on the Skiplevel road.
Survivors include her son Leland, on the home farm, and two grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Fred, Arthur and Alvin of Colesburg and four sisters, also of Colesburg, Mrs. George Blaker, Mrs. Raymond Dodge, Mrs. Harry Barnhardt and Mrs. Jack Behenken.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 24, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Methodist Church with the Rev. William Cotton in charge. Interment was in the Brown Cemetery, north of Colesbug.
Pallbearers were Mrs. Miller's nephews; Duane Behenken, Delbert Miller, Richard Steinfadt, Donald Dodge, Harold Miller and Frank Barry, Jr.
Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her parents and husband Frank.
