Funeral services were held from the Tuecke funeral home at Guttenberg Wednesday Dec. 27 at 1:30 p.m. for a lifelong resident of this vicinity, Mrs. Laura Oldham, 78. Mrs. Oldham was taken ill suddenly Saturday afternoon at her farm home north of Colesburg and died Sunday moring.

The Rev. Martin Miller, pastor of the Guttenberg Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in the Brown Cemetery, north of Colesburg.

Mrs. Oldham was born near Garber on Nov. 3, 1883, the daughter of Alex and Agnes Foster Hansel. On January 1, 1907, she married Cuthbert Oldham at her home. They farmed north of Colesburg until his death in December of 1936. Since then she and her son have operated the same farm.

Surviving Mrs. Oldham are her son Omar Oldham of Colesburg, two daughters, Mrs. Orville Reimer of Elkader and Mrs. Raymond Holthaus of Colesburg.. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the United Brethren Church of Fairview.
