Funeral services were held Thursday at 2:30, June 12, 1980, at St. John Lutheran Church, Farmersburg, with Pastor Karl Hansen officiating.
Pallbearers were Ronald Mueller, Warren Mueller, Tom Mueller, Roger Ross, Charles Ross, Jerome Pat Carroll. Burial was in the Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery. Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona, was in charge of the services.

Arlene Joyce Knapp, the daughter of Marvin and Amanda Kluth Mueller, was born July 20, 1922 at Farmersburg. She died Monday, June 9, 1980 at Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, having reached the age of 57 years, 10 months, 19 days.

She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church. She received her education at the Farmersburg School and attended State Teachers College at Cedar Falls. On June 9, 1948, she was united in marriage to Harry George Knapp, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Farmersburg. To this union three children were born: Mark, Michael, and Cathy.

During the years Harry was in the Navy they lived in Florida, Texas and California, returning to Farmersburg in 1962. She was a teacher and secretary for the MFL Community Schools for 17 years, until illness forced her retirement.

Preceeding her in death were her parents, her son Mark, who died in 1949 at the age of 3 days and her husband, Harry, who died in 1977.

Surviving her are her son Michael, daughter-in-law Mischell, of Cedar Falls, her daughter Cathy Risk, son-in-law Alan of Iowa City, one grandson Troy Knapp, three granddaughters, Jessica Knapp, Amanda and Emily Risk; two brothers Malloyd Mueller of Elkader and Orval Mueller of Farmersburg, and other relatives and many friends.

She was a cheerful person with a positive outlook on life, no matter how much hurt and sorrow she had to endure, she was always optimistic. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
