Bruce J. Mallory, 70, of Caledonia, Mich, formerly of Alburnett, Ia. went to be with his Lord on Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, in Grand Rapids, Mich. following a long illness.

Visitation will be Wednesday at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home and Crematory in Manchester, Iowa.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at the Brown Cemetery near Colesburg, Ia. with military rites. Memorial contributions may be given to Alburnett Community Schools.

Bruce was born Oct. 22, 1938 to Clark "Bob" and Elsie (Hansel) Mallory, and grew up near Colesburg, where he enjoyed working on the family farm. He served in the Navy for four years.

On May 31, 1969 he married Judith Ann "Thurn" Bickford at The Little Brown Chruch in the Vale. Bruce and Judi attended Peace Christian Reformed Church, where Bruce accepted the Lord and was baptized.

He taught 5th grade and coached for nearly 30 years in Alburnett Community Schools before retiring to Michigan to be near his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife Judith, children Isaac Dean "Rebecca Lynn" Mallory, Beth Aline Mallory (Wayne Russell), Julia Marie (Jeff) Clark; daughter-in-law Sandra Bickford; 13 grandchildren; sister Judith Karen (James) Holthaus; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sandra Thurn, Bettie (Jeff) Siggins; Brian (Jennifer) Thurn, April (Erik) Hierholzer and many nieces and nephews.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; and a son James Bickford.
