In 1943 she married Harold Opsand. During the last few years of her life she assisted at both the Palmer Memorial Hospital and Good Samaritan Nursing Home at West Union as well as at the Postville Community Hospital. In 1961 she served as Superintendent of Nurses at the New Postville Hospital during its first year of operation. She died July 16, 1966, at the Postville Community Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Since her marriage, Mrs. Opsand was an active member of Marion Lutheran Church, serving in many capacities. Community and family welfare, too, were always her great concern.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers -- Sander, Joseph, and Clarence.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 18, at the Marion Lutheran church, with the Rev. Roger Peterson officiating. Interment was at Marion Lutheran cemetery.
