Graveside services were held for Ione D. Ortmann, 85, Saturday, Sept. 5, 1992, at the Union Cemetery, rural Littleport. Rev. Albert Hock officiated.

Ione D. Ortmann was born February 7, 1907, near Littleport, Iowa, to Henry and Anna (Nightingale) Rieck. She was raised and educated in the area attending rural schools.

She was united in marriage to Karl Ortmann at Littleport in 1925. They lived most of their married life in Littleport. Karl died in 1964. She was a lifelong member of Hope Lutheran Church at Littleport. After a lengthy illness, Ione D. Ortmann died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1992, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

She is survived by three sisters: Fern Kellogg of Cedar Rapids, Marie Larson of San Francisco, Calif., and Doris Brody of Ninilchik, Alaska; a brother Kenneth Rieck of Orange, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and four brothers.
