Funeral Held for Mrs. Isch

Funeral services for Mrs. Wilhelmina Isch were held Saturday afternoon at 3:30 at the Waggener and Campbel chapel by Rev. Frank B. Hillis. A mixed quartette composed of Mrs. Merlyn Lofgren, Joanne Dickson, Earl Klinger and Francis Guest sang two hymn selections and Mrs. Lofgren played a violin solo. Mrs. G.D. Qualls accompanied at the organ. Grandsons acting as pallbearers were Burton Isch, Harry Isch, Rudy Streit, Roger V. Wendt, Paul Streit and John A. Isch. Interment was in Conrad Memorial cemetery.

Wilhelmina Nehls was born May 27, 1856 to Christene Dorweger Nehls and Carl Nehls at Roebel, Mecklenburg Schwerien, Germany. At the age of 15 she came to America with her parents and two brothers by sailboat crossing the Atlantic in six weeks. On Feb. 7, 1877 she was married to John Isch at Elkader, Iowa, and 11 children were born to this union, eight of whom survive. After farming at Elkader, West Bend, and Cylinder, Iowa, until 1912, the family came to the Flathead to farm in the Fairview district.

Three children preceded her in death and also Mr. Isch who died in 1938. Mrs. Isch died in Kalispell June 22, 1950 at the age of 94 years. Surviving relatives include four daughters, Mrs. Emma Streit, Mrs. Minnie Wendt and Mrs. Elinor Lohre all of Kalispell and Mrs. Lena Domek of Columbia Falls, and four sons, Herman of Deming, Wash., August, Julius and Henry all of Kalispell; 36 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
