John Isch
John Isch passed away last evening at his home on Eighth avenue west in Kalispell. Mr. Isch was 84 years of age and had been a resident of the Flathead since 1911. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Waggener & Campbell chapel by REv. W.H. Sandy, followed by interment in the Conrad Memorial cemetery.

Funeral services for John Isch were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Waggener & Campbel chapel by Rev. W.H. Sandy of Central Christian church. There many beautiful flowers and the chapel was more than filled by the many friends. During the service Mrs. M.A. Tiffany and Mrs. W.H. Sandy sang three hymns, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Frank Monthart. Friends acting as pall bearers were J.V. Harrington, W.H. Rauska, Alfred Schulp, F.X. Grosswiler, and W.E. Jordan. Interment was made in the Conrad Memorial cemetery.

John Isch was born December 5, 1853 at [Berme ?], Switzerland. At the age of six months he came with his parents to Elkader, Iowa, where he grew to manhood and was married Feb. 1876 to Wilhelmina Nehls. In 188? they moved to West Bend, Iowa, and in 1912 to the Flathead. They farmed here for many years before retiring. Mr. Isch passed away in Kalispell March 11, 1938 at the age of 84 years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Wilhelmina Isch, and their nine children, five sons, Alfred, Herman, August, Julius and Henry; four daughters, Mrs. R.J. Strait, Mrs. Frank Domek, Mrs. Oscar Lohr and Mrs. Gus Wendl, Jr., all living here in the valley; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Werner of Salem, Oregon, and Mrs. Fannie Falb of West Bend, Iowa. There are also 38 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
