Funeral Today for Strawberry Pt. Man
Strawberry Point (Special) - Funeral services were held at Strawberry Point today for John A. Lamphere, 59, who died unexpectedly Friday while working in the field. Burial was in Strawberry Point ceemetery.
Son of Henry and Abagail Mitchell Lamphere, he was born at Cox Creek June 16, 1888. Dec. 11, 1907 he was married to Elsie Carnicle. They farmed until moving to Strawberry Point a few years ago. Survivors are the widow; an adopted daughter, Mrs. Frederick Glass, Dundee; Joe Childers, Winthrop, whom they raised; four sisters, Mrs. Fred Sheers, Edgewood, Mrs. George Ingles, Churchtown, Mrs. Charles Carney, Brainerd and Mrs. Elizabeth McLane, Manchester; a brother, Elom Lamphere, Strawberry Point, and three grandchildren.
