OBITUARY

Leonard Sebastian

Leonard Frank Sebastian, the son of Frank and Mary Sebastian, was born on November 14, 1861, near Farmersburg, Iowa. He attended the public school and the Evangelical church.

He was married to Martha Henkes on March 8, 1887. They lived on a farm near Monona until they moved to Howard county in 1902. They were on a farm near Davis Corners for six years and then moved to Vernon Springs where they lived for four years, coming from there to Cresco in 1912, where they have lived since.

Mr Sebastain was shipping manager for the United Shippers for a period.

Mr. and Mrs. Sebastian celebrated their golden wedding anniversary, March 8, 1937.

Mrs. Sebastian passed away on Feb. 21, of this year; preceding by jut 30 days her husband whose death occurred on April 2, 1939. Of their five children, three died in infancy. Mr.and Mrs. Sebastian leave two children, Leslie Sebastian and Mrs. Cora Craft, both of Cresco, and ten grandchildren, six grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Mr. Sebasian is survived by his brother, Charles Sebastian of Pasadena, California and three sisters: Mrs. Emma Barton of Marquette, Ia; Mrs. Sella Shales of Sumner, Ia., and Mrs. Ella Rodocker, Creston, Ia.

Mr. Sebastian was a kind father who was ever thoughtful and consistant in planning for and interesed in the welfare of his family. He was a good neighbor who will be greatly missed by his relatives and a host of friends.

Your willing hands shall toil no more.
On earth, there's grief, in heaven there's rest,
We miss you most who loved you best.
Funeral servicws were held at the Bradley funeral home Tuesday afternoon. Burial was in New Oregon cemetery. The Rev. Arthur D. Phelps, pastor of the Congrgational church, officiated.
