Littleport: Clarence R. Beck, son of Dietrich and Emilie (Helbig) Beck, was born August 4, 1893, on a farm near Elkport and died March 26, 1970, at the Delaware County Memorial Hospital at Manchester.
He was baptized September 3, 1893, and confirmed April 12, 1908, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Elkport. December 16, 1914 he was united in marriage to Mollie Sturm and they were privileged to celebrate 55 years if wedded life. They farmed in the vicinity of Littleport until they retired when they moved to Littleport.
Surviving are his widow; one daughter, Mrs John (Iona) Klinoff, Los Banos, Calif.; four sons, Realto, Dietrich and John, Rockford Ill., Lawrence, Motor; three sisters, Mrs Agnes Noggle, Dubuque, Mrs Isabel Lau, Fayette,, Mrs Edna Hundt, Ill.; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; three children, Donald, Dorothy and Robert; three brothers, Milton, Homer and Joseph; three sisters, Violet, who died in infancy, Lenora Berns, Jeanette Yeisley.
Funeral services were conducted by pastor Rothfuz, March 28, at Hope Lutheran Church with burial at Union cemetery.
Pallbearers were Elmer Ashline, Wm. Dahling, Herman Hakert, Clarence Kuehl, Donald Liddy and Verner Smith.
Among those attending the funeral were: Mr and Mrs. Dietrich Beck, Mr and Mrs Edward Beck and family, Mrs Linus Berns and son, Rockford, Ill,; Mrs Clarence Lau and son, Fayette; Mrs Agnes Noggle, Dubuque; Mrs Minnie Hagensick, Mrs Mae White, Waukon; Mr and Mrs Leslie Connor and son, Postville; Mr and Mrs Marvin Jaster and Jerry, Edgewood; Mrs Charles Kelly and children, Cedar Rapids; Mrs Ona Vierow, Mrs Eva Sturm, Strawberry Point; Mrs Mable Hill and Lorie Ann, Mcgregor; Mrs John Klinoff and friend, Waterloo.
