EDGEWOOD, Iowa ---- Services for Eleanor Patricia Hyde Possehl, 72, of Fort Atkinson, Iowa, formerly of Edgewood, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mark's Catholic Church, Edgewood.
Burial will be in the Edgewood Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday at Leonard-Vernon Funeral Home, Edgewood, where the wake service will be said at 7:30 p.m.
Mrs. Possehl taught in rural Clayton County, Elkport and Anamosa schools.
She was born April 6, 1916, at rural Edgewood, daughter of Jim and Annette (Hartman) Cole. She died Thursday afternoon, Aug. 4, 1988, at Mercy Health Center St. Joseph's Unit, Dubuque.
She married Donald Hyde in 1937 in Missouri; he died in 1966. She married Burdeen Possehl in October 1972 at Strawberry Point.
Surviving besides her second husband are a son, Jim Hyde of Hazel Green, Wis.; a daughter, Mrs. Bob (Marilyn) Zezulka of New Albin; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Phil Cole of Elkader, Ralph Cole of Maynard and Bruce Cole of Chicago; and a sister, Catherine Cole of Manchester.
