Leonard Frank Plozel
Leonard Frank Plozel was born April 22, 1912, in Giard twp., Clayton County, Iowa to parents, Joseph and Mayme Lestina Plozel. He died Wednesday, March 21, 1990 at Central Community Hospital in Elkader following a sudden illness.
He received his education in Cooper Valley School #2.
On February 17, 1940 he married Florence Schlitter at the Evangelical United Brethren parsonage in Monona. They had one son. He farmed in Giard twp. all of his life. He also did custom farming, hauled milk and owned and operated Plozel Sawmill. The couple lived on the farm until moving to Monona in the fall of 1989.
Preceding him in death were his parents and twin sister, Leona Plozel.
Surviving is his wife, Florence; his son, Loren of McGregor; one sister, Alice Larson of Monona and one brother, Eugene Plozel of Monona.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 17, 1990, at 11:00 a.m. at Garden City United Methodist Church in Monona. Rev. Gary Dobbins officiating. Burial was in Council Hill Cemetery, rural Monona.
Pallbearers were: Jim Tayek, Bob Tayek, Gilbert Wiethorn, Dale Henning, Alan Leas and Virgil Richardson.
Schultz's Funeral Home in Monona was in charge of services.
