RITES FOR MRS. PEGLOW
Fay Gilbert Peglow, daughter of Egbert V. Gilbert and Eva Green Gilbert, was born March 18, 1891, at Ossian, Iowa. She graduated from Ossian High School in 1908. Later she was employed in the Ossian Bee printing office, in the North Iowa Times office in McGregor, Iowa, and in a printing office at Stacyville, Ia.
On January 10, 1917, she was married to Fred J. Peglow of Monona, where she lived until the time of her death, June 3, 1964, at the age of 73.
She is survived by her husband, Fred; a son, Gilbert; three grandchildren, Pamala, Stephen and John; also three sisters, Mrs. Oscar Johnson (Linnie) of Wakefield, Mass.; Mrs. George Wallace (Joyce) of South Hadley, Mass., and Mrs. William Wallace (Dorothy) of Lynnfield Center, Mass.; also an uncle, Charles Green, of Decorah, Ia.; several nieces and nephews and many friends. One of her nieces, Jean Fisk, of Des Moines, Ia., lived with the Peglow family for several years, and was like a daughter to them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Mrs. Edgar A. Fisk (Hazel) and Mrs. William Bryan (Floy) and three brothers, Clare, Russell and Harold.
Mrs. Peglow was active in church and civic organizations. She was a member of the Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, the Garden Club, Library Board, Women's Republican League, Iowa Historical Society and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Funeral services were held in Monona Methodist Church on Saturday afternoon, June 6, at 1:30. Burial was in I. O. O. F. City Cemetery, Monona. The Rev. Paul V. Clements officiating.
