Robert Lee Peake
Robert Lee Peake, of Hot Springs, Arkansas was killed last July 31, about 11:30 p.m. when a car smashed into the trailer home in which he was sleeping. Young Peake had gone to the trailer to catch a nap from his work when a car, driven by two youths at a speed estimated at 70 miles per hour, left the road and crashed into the Peake trailer.
Robert Lee Peake, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Peake, was born at Elkader, may 3, 1938, and passed away at Hot Springs, Arkansas, July 31, 1959.
Mr. Peake attended Postville Public Schools and graduated from Hot Springs high school in 1954. He attended business college in Hot Springs and then went into business with his father and his brother, Glen, owing and operating the Red Bird Service Station.
The funeral was at Gross Mortuary, Hot Springs, conducted by the Rev. Carl R. Goldenstein, pastor of United Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m. August 4. Interment was at memorial Gardens, Hot Springs.
Survivors are his parents, a brother Glen, of Hot Springs, and a sister, Nora (Mrs. Richard A. Wenrich) of Hollywood, California.
Attending the funeral from out of town: Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Peake and Mrs. Henry Larson of Postville, Mrs. Howard Kluss of Monona, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Amundson of Clermont, Mrs. Florence Dean and Mrs. Doris Evans of Waterloo, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Peake of Elgin, Mrs. Willard Morand of Guttenberg, Charles Peake of Manchester, Frank Peake of Elkader, Miss Addie Peake of Arlington, and the deceased's sister, Mrs. R. A. Wenrich of California.
