Joyce E. Hill

Joyce E. Hill, 82, of Decorah, formerly of McGregor, died Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon following a long illness. Private family services will be held at a later date. The Thornburg-Hanson Funeral Home in McGregor assisted the family.

Joyce is survived by two sons, William "Bill" (Roberta) Tesar of McGregor and Terry (Judi) Tesar of Decorah; a daughter, Jacquelyn McEwen of Elkader; four grandchildren, Chad Tesar, Barbara Rickels, Valerie Lawver, and Canna Nelson; nine grandchildren by marriage; 20 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Darlene Cahoon, and a brother, Charles Davies, both of McGregor.

Joyce was born August 22, 1926 in McGregor to Will Walter and Elsie Ellen (McMillin) Davies. She married Albert Edward "Abe" Tesar. Joyce worked as a nurse's aide in the Prairie du Chien Hospital and also as an aide in the nursing home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, and a sister, Donna Carlson.
