Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 8 at the Marion Lutheran Church for P. K. Peterson. Pastor Robert Henriksen officiated.

He came to America with his parents, observing his first birthday on the ocean. The day after his birthday, the ship "Thingvalla" which he was on, collided with another Danish ship. Of the 148 people aboard the two ships only 50 survived.

On June 25, 1914 he was united in marriage to Julia Christianson. To this union two daughters were born, Bernice (Mrs. Harvey Anderson) and Gladys (Mrs. Harold Halverson).
With the exception of six years on a farm near Wauzeka, Wisconsin he has lived in this community all of his married life.
Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother, Gilbert, and two infant grandsons.
Surviving are his wife, Julia, two daughters, Mrs. Harvey Anderson, Postville and Mrs. Harold Halverson, Elgin; six grandchildren, Wayne Anderson, Ames; Sp/4 Steve Halverson, Vietnam; Cheryl Anderson, Cedar Rapids; David and Daryl Anderson and Diane Halverson and one great grandson, Charles Anderson of Ames.
