Carl Weller Dies at Age of 92
Carl Weller, 92, died Sunday on the farm, where he had lived for 65 years.
Carl Goetlieb Weller was born September 1, 1861 at Hoffenlimbach, Virtenberg, Germany, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Johannas Weller. He was the youngest of the family and the last surviving member of that family.
He received his education and religious training in Germany and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church there.
As a young man he came to America and arrived here on his twenty first birthday, September 1, 1882. He worked as a hired man on a farm for awhile and then operated his own farm.
On January 5, 1888 he was married to Louisa Reinhardt of Clayton Center. They lived their entire married life on the farm home east of National.
They were the parents of five children: Amel, Elmer, who died in 1947, Mrs. Roy (Hilda) Miller, Alfreda and Ernest, who is on the home farm. Mrs. Weller died in January 1945.
Surving besides the four children are 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Carl died in 1953. Obit was from North Iowa Times but did not have date attached.
