McGregor, Ia - Special: Services for Mrs. Carl Weller, 73, were held from the Pilkington Funeral home in McGregor to St. Peter's Lutheran church in Garnavillo Tuesday afternoon. Burial was in the cemetery at National. Mrs. Weller died early Sunday morning at the McGregor hospital after a short illness.She was born Louise Reinhardt in Province Hanover, Germany , in 1871, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dietrich Reinhardt. When she was two the family emigrated to the United States and settled on a farm south of McGregor. On Jan. 5, 1888, she was married to Carl Weller, and they moved to the farm two and one-half miles east of National, which had been her home for the 57 years since.
Surviving are her husband; five sons and daughters, Amel, Elmer, Ernest, Elfrieda, and Mrs. Roy Miller, all of McGregor; two brothers, Frank Reinhardt and Henry Reinhardt, both of Postville, Ia; three sisters, Mrs. Fred Meine, Postville; Mrs. Henry Bugenhagen, Cresco, Ia., and Mrs. Earl Davies, McGregor; 12 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Two grandsons and the husband of a granddaughter are in service: Capt. Raymond Miller is in Hawaii; S. Sgt. Everett Weller is at home on leave at present from the front in France and Germany and Lt. Arno Corlett is in the fifth army in Italy.
Date of death was 16 Jan 1945. Obit had no date but Dubuque, Iowa was at top of the obit.
