Funeral services for Florence Lou Pape, 88, were held Monday, Feb. 2, 1981 at 1:30 p.m. at Schultz's Funeral Home in Monona with the Rev. William R. Johnson officiating. Interment was in the Monona City Cemetery.
Florence Pape, the daughter of Henry A. and Minnie (Waalk) Hupfer, was born Oct. 8, 1892 in rural Clayton County. She received her education in the area school and graduated from Monona High School in 1909, and Elkader Teachers Institute. She taught school and was later a clerk in Steele General Merchandise Store.
February 11, 1915, she married Edward W. Pape. She was a member of Garden City United Methodist Church and the WSCS. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Garden Club and Women's Club until ill health made attendance impossible. She died Friday, January 30 at the Good Samaritan Center in Postville, where she had resided since May 1977.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, one brother, Page. Surviving are her daughter, Jeanette; her son, Robert of Glendale, Calif., four grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Wendell (Mae) Baskerville of Monona.
