Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Methodist church for Mrs. Lena Davies, who died Saturday.
Mrs. Davies, daughter of John and Christina Siegele, was born on a farm near McGregor on Mar 16, 1863, and passed away June 5, 1937, at the age of 74 years.
Her education was obtained in the local country schools. On March 14, 1888, she became the bride of Richard Davies, who passed away October 15, 1930. The later years of her life were spent at the home of her son Will, in McGregor, where she was kindly cared for.
Death followed a lingering illness of about a year's duration, the final weeks of which were marked by intense suffering.
She is survived by the following children: Will, Leslie, Earl and Mabel (Mrs. Seward Henkes) all of this vicinity, and Charles Moody, a son by a former marriage.
Two aged brothers also mourn her loss, Fred and Louis Siegele, of McGregor. One sister, Bertha, Mrs. John Miller, and a brother, Charles Siegele, preceded her in death. There are also twelve grandchildren.
Mrs. Davies was a member of the Methodist church, and lived according to its teachings. She was a good wife and a fond mother, a kind neighbor and a true friend, and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
