Hilda Miller
Funeral services were held for Hilda Miller on Fri., March 3, 1978 at 11:00 p.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona. Clergyman officiating was Pastor R. D. Ehlers. Music was furnished by organist and soloist, Mrs. Roger Halvorson, and congregational singing.
Pallbearers were Raymond Doerring, Dale Miller, Milt Kramer, Everett Beguin, Robert Melcher, Robert Doerring, Ronald H. Miller, Paul Scheidt, Larry Williams, Leonard Seitz.
Burial was in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Monona.
Hilda Dorothea Friedericke, the daughter of John P. and Dorathea H. (Harnack) Lenth, was born on March 22, 1891 at Luana, Iowa. On May 18, 1891, she was baptized at Clayton Center. After instruction in the Christian faith she was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, Luana, on March 27, 1904.
She received her education in the rural schools of the Luana area.
On May 24, 1911, she and Hubert Miller were united in marriage. To this union two children were born: Mrs. John (Helen) Doerring of Luana and Harlin of Monona.
They farmed southwest of Monona. In 1934 her husband died. In 1942 she moved to Monona. The last three years she lived at the Good Samaritan Home in Postville.
On Tues. morning, Feb. 28, 1978, she passed away at the Home in Postville. She reached the age of 86 years, 11 months, and 6 days.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, one brother, and one grandson.
Surviving her are two children, ten grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren; six brothers: Gus, John, Elmer, Ernest, Herbert and Louis; three sisters: Mrs. Ella Jarms, Mrs. Esther Palas and Mrs. Nora Haberichter; also other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Miller was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church and ALCW of Monona.
