Ramona Christofferson
Ramona Ruth Christofferson, 80, of Monona died Sunday, September 28, 2008 at Northgate Care Center in Waukon following a brief illness. Memorial Services were held Thursday, October 2 at the Living Faith United Methodist Parish of Monona. The Rev. Dennis Gilbert officiated. Inurnment followed in the Monona City Cemetery, Monona.
Ramona was born June 7, 1928 on the family farm south of Monona to Linford and Thelma (Henderson) Bentien. She attended Pleasant Hill Country School, south of Monona.
She was united in marriage to Gaylord Stevenson June 12, 1946 at Monona. One daughter was born to this union. She was united in marriage to Leo Christofferson August 24, 1954 at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. Three children were born to this union.
Ramona enjoyed cooking, making quilts, and putting puzzles together, and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Ramona was a member of the Living Faith United Methodist Parish in Monona for several years.
Survivors include her four children, Linda (Eldon) Kurth of Monona, William "Bill" (Joyce Moore) Christofferson of Postville, Melon Horns (fiancé Joe Hogan) of Harpers Ferry, and Tim (Linda Peters) Christofferson of Monona; grandchildren Kathy (Ivy) Williams, Amy (Randy) Henry, Jill Christofferson, Wade Christofferson, Matthew (Stephanie) Horns, Mike Horns, Sarah Christofferson, Seth (Michele) Christofferson, Shaun Christofferson and Stacy Christofferson; great-grandchildren Brittany and Keefe Williams, Spencer Horns, and Katelyn, Brandon and Hunter Christofferson; one brother, Harlan (Imogene) Bentien of Monona; one brother-in-law, Charles Benesh of Mt. Hope, AR; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ramona was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leo, September 11, 2006; two sisters, Betty Funk and JoAnn Benesh; and her son-in-law, Myron Horns.
Leonard Funeral Home of Monona was in charge of arrangements.
