Connie Renee Rude

Memorial services were held for Connie Renee Rude at 11:00 a.m. on April 01, 2008 at Marion Lutheran Church in Gunder, Iowa with interment at Marion Lutheran Cemetery in Gunder. The Leonard Funeral Home of Elkader, Iowa was in charge of the arrangements.

Connie Renee Rude 56, of Manchester, Iowa passed away March 28, 2008 due to complications of cancer.

Connie was born to Harry and Arlene (Engen) Rude on March 12, 1952 in Decorah, Iowa. She grew up in St. Olaf, Iowa. She was an Elkader Central Community High School and Iowa State University graduate. Connie then dedicated 30 years of service with the Iowa Dept of Human Services.

Connie’s love was spending quality time with her nieces, nephews, and five great-nieces. She had a special talent making beautiful birthday, baptism, and wedding cakes. Connie’s talent also extended to her and her mother’s flower beds. She also enjoyed scrap booking, reading, music, and playing cards. She loved being with family and friends. Connie always went out of her way to make holidays extra special for her family and planned special Halloween costume parties for her friends. She loved her dogs: Jessie, Willow, and Sandy.

She is survived by her mother, Arlene Rude; her siblings: Daryl (Mary Ann) Rude, Becky (Mark) Kainz, Randy (Jan) Rude; half brothers, Harry Rude Jr. and Lynas Rude; nieces and nephews: Kim (Ryan) Richardson, Scott (Christine) Kainz, Kristy (Lance) Amsden, Cory and Christopher Rude; great nieces: Ally and Kira Richardson, Amelia and Maria Kainz, and Brooklyn Amsden.

She was preceded in death by her father Harry; brother Mark; grandparents, Hans and Anna Engen, and Minnie Rude.
