Funeral services for Louise Ziegler were held at 1:00 p.m. on April 28, 2004 at Garden City United Methodist Church in Monona, Iowa with interment at Monona City Cemetery, Monona.
Louise Ziegler, 96, of Silvis, Illinois, formerly of Guttenberg and Monona, Iowa died Saturday, April 24, 2004, at the Illinois Restorative Care Center, Silvis, Illinois following a long illness. She was born July 15, 1907, at Queens, New York. She came to Iowa on the orphan train from Queens, New York. Louise was united in marriage to Weber F. Ziegler at the Little Brown Church in Nashua on October 1, 1925. They operated the City Service Station in Monona until 1950. They moved to Moline, Illinois, and in 1965, they moved to Guttenberg. She also lived with family members over the years. Survivors include three sons, Weber (Vera Mae) Ziegler of Silvis, Illinois, Donald (Mary Jo) Ziegler of East Moline, Illinois and Wayne (Aurelle) Ziegler of Davenport;Iowa; two daughters, Betty Ellis of Moline, Illinois and Wilma (Paul) Barnhart of Guttenberg, Iowa; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 19, 1986; a son, Darwin, on July 15, 2001 and a son-in-law, Lloyd "Curly" Ellis.
