Gaylord William Trappe

Funeral services were held for Gaylord Trappe at 1:30 p.m. on April 26, 2004 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona, Iowa with interment in the Monona City Cemetery. Leonard Funeral Home of Monona was in charge of arrangements.

Gaylord William Trappe, 88, died Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, WI, following a brief illness.

He was born May 30, 1915 on the family farm in rural Monona, to Victor and Ella (Kurth) Trappe.

Gaylord received his education in the country schools. He farmed his entire life. Gaylord enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, dancing and fixing fence.

Survivors include his five brothers, Willard (Lucille), of Charles City, Elmer (Mary), of Manley, Emmet (friend Vanita Shaw), Herb (Donna), and Robert (Sharon), all of Monona; fifteen nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Gaylord was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Harold Trappe.
