Funeral services were held for Lorraine D. Klingeman at 11:00 a.m. on March 8, 2004 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Monona, Iowa with interment in the St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery at Monona. Leonard Funeral Home, Monona, was in charge of the arrangements.
Lorraine D. “Tootie” Klingeman, 87, of Monona, died March 3, 2004, at the Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien, WI. She was born January 1, 1917, on a farm near Monona, to Louis and Adeline (Blietz) Steiert. She attended St. Patrick’s School in Monona and graduated from the Monona High School in 1934. She was united in marriage to Woodrow E. Klingeman on May 6, 1946.
In 1941, Lorraine began a long career in the restaurant business in Monona, beginning at the McDonald’s Café, retiring in 1985 when the Grand Café closed. She enjoyed cooking, reading and nature.
Survivors include her husband, Woodrow Klingeman, Monona; her daughter, Mary and husband Wayne Johnson, Las Vegas, NV; her son, Br. David Klingeman,O.S.B., Collegeville, MN; grandchildren, Michelle and husband Brian Beaudion and Timothy Johnson and his fiancé Michelle Vouers and loving nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Leo and Msgr. Gerald Steiert.
